Interactive Maths Station

Posted by in Classroom Ideas, Numeracy

Some plain cupboard doors got a new function in my room this week. Using some simple card, a few stickers and a packet of lollipop sticks, I created an interactive maths station.

The children’s task is to read the number on each envelope and to count & place that number of lollipop sticks into the envelope. Alternatively, if they can’t recognise the number, they have the option to count the stickers and count the same amount of lollipop sticks. The stickers will also aid the younger children by allowing them to match using one-to-one correspondence. The numbers go all the way to 20, not only for the more able but to encourage all children to reach as high as they can!

Its an easy way to keep the children active in their learning throughout the day!
